When asked to come up with a creative, impactful idea for community service in our area, this student had an awesome one! In her words, “I think that a fun project that would benefit the Johnstown/Northridge communities could be a celebration of music through community collaboration. This project would aim to revitalize the musical landscape of Johnstown and Northridge through a series of community-driven music events. This would have an impact by strengthening community bonds, showcasing local talent, and revitalizing the cultural scene”. We love this idea, and hope to implement it someday!

When asked to come up with a creative, impactful idea for community service in our area, this student had an awesome one! In his words, “Through my work at Johnstown Pointe Nursing Home, I realized that there is a big problem with senior citizen loneliness. I believe that we, as a community, could come together to help combat this problem. My idea is a sort of "adopt-a-grandparent" program where the young people (could be any age really) are assigned a senior citizen and do specific activities with them and for them”. We love this idea and plan to implement it in the near future!
